About Raquel López

Raquel López has studied Fashion Design, French Pattern Drafting, Fashion Draping, Fashion Illustration and Tailoring at Apparel Arts in San Francisco; Flat Pattern Design at City College of San Francisco; and Couture Sewing Techniques with Susan Khalje at the Couture Sewing School. She has also studied classic French draping techniques from master Parisian draper and pattern maker Julien Cristofoli.

 

In 1998 Raquel won the coveted San Francisco Bay Area Isadora Duncan Dance Award in Costume Design.

 

A former flamenco dancer herself, Raquel has designed costumes for Theatre Flamenco, Rosa Montoya’s Bailes Flamencos, Cruz Luna’s Ole! Ole! Spanish Dance Company, Flamenco Vivo, Aire de Sevilla, Los Flamencos del Valle, Duende Flamenco, Arte Flamenco de San Jose, El Cuadro Flamenco and The Flamenco Dance Ensemble, as well as flamenco soloists and performers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
